Judge orders EF bus service to continue

An Allegheny County judge has issued an injunction ordering Pennsylvania Coach Lines to continue to provide service to the Elizabeth Forward School District.

Judge Christine Ward issued the preliminary injunctive relief late Friday afternoon ordering the bus company to continue to provide service as ordered by the court August 10 at the rates set forth in an Oct. 17, 2018, agreement that froze most rates at the 2018-19 school year level until the current court matter is resolved.

Under the agreement, which Pennsylvania Coach Lines has in the past claimed it never approved, the bus company must provide service for regular education, private and parochial school students and activity and after-school busing.

The school district initially sought injunctive relief after being informed July 31 that Pennsylvania Coach Lines would not be providing bus service for the 2019-20 school year after being the district’s provider since 2004.
