Edward Capozza, 93, of Donora, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019, at Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth. He was born June 11, 1926, in Monessen, the son of the late Egidio and Frances Fella Capozza. Ed was the owner operator of Frontier Heating. He was a man of many talents who loved woodworking. He built his home and his hunting lodge using his many skills. He was a musician, having played in many bands, including the U.S. Navy and the Continentals, where he played the sax. He performed in many local venues, including the Twin Coaches and the Inn America. Ed was an avid hunter, gardener and wine maker. He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Church. Ed served his country in World War II, serving as a seaman first class in the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his son, Thomas E. Cappozza, on Aug. 7, 2015; a son-in-law, Glenn Kinder; three sisters, Theresa, Rosie and Edith; and two brothers, Joseph and Cosmo. Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Pauline Kurtak Capozza; two daughters, Marsha Kinder of Donora and Karen (Greg) Oslowski of Carroll Township; five grandchildren, April Kinder Wisyanski, Kevin Kinder, Chris Oslowski, Jason Oslowski and Antoinette Capozza; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Alberina Perunko of Donora; and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements are being handled by ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial in Our Lady of the Valley Church. Entombment will follow at Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora. Full military rites will be accorded by the Mon Valley Honor Guard and Firing Squad.
