Annual concert to honor veterans, first responders

The Greater Monongahela Area Community Band will perform its annual Concert Tribute to Veterans and First Responders Sunday and will include a special moment with a local veteran.
Conductor Rich Pantaleo said the event is set for 2:15 p.m. in the new Ringgold Middle School auditorium.
The annual event, which got its start after Sept. 11, 2001, will feature the usual medley of songs that include the themes of the branches of the armed forces.
“This year, we are doing a composition called ‘Heroes and Warriors,’ written by Ringgold graduate Joel Leach,” Pantaleo said.
