A registered sex offender from Jefferson Hills is wanted for allegedly restraining and attempting to rape a 15-year-old boy in Carroll Township.

Carroll Township police obtained an arrest warrant for Russell Michael Marycz, 43, of State Street on charges of unlawful contact with a minor – sexual offenses, kidnapping of a minor, interference with custody of children, corruption of minors, criminal solicitation, coerce/threaten to commit crime, simple assault, unlawful restraint of minor, false imprisonment of a minor and criminal attempt – rape threat of forcible compulsion following an investigation of the alleged Sept. 28 incident. Police Chief Paul Brand filed the charges Monday at the Monongahela office of Magisterial District Judge Mark Wilson.

The alleged incident began about 10:45 p.m. in Monongahela when the 15-year-old teen purchased food at Sheetz. The teen left on foot toward Main Street, turned left onto Second Street to Chess Street. That’s when the teen said he saw Marycz come out of a side street, and Marycz asked him what street they were on.
