Monongahela’s longtime clerk to retire

Over the past 46 years, Monongahela has had four mayors, myriad council members, two city halls and one Carole Foglia.

After all these years, Carole, the longtime city clerk, has decided to retire. The end of this month will mark her last day and it will truly be the end of an era. Not many municipalities are lucky enough to have someone as dedicated and kind as Carole, and fewer still get to keep them for so long.

When she started, Arch Wilson was mayor in the old city hall, which sat where the current city hall’s parking lot is now. Carole started working there through a special program under City Clerk Elizabeth Baker. When Baker retired, Carole took on the job.

John Moreschi was a councilman at the time, and the hairdresser Carole’s mother went to. He told her mother that Carole should take the job, so she did.
