Joseph G. “Jerry” Chunkala, 82, of Rostraver Township died Friday, Oct. 18, 2019. Born in North Charleroi on Sept. 22, 1937, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Panczyn Chunkala. Jerry was retired from Fisher Body, where he worked as a die setter and was a member of United Auto Workers Union Local No. 544. He was also a member of St. Sebastian Church in Belle Vernon and Star Junction Gun Club. He is survived by his wife of 34 1/2 years, Delores M. Boyd Chunkala; children, Germaine (Jim) Holtzer of Greensburg, Joseph (Carol) Chunkala Jr. of Rostraver Township and Kristin (Paul) Kubicek of Greensburg; step-children, Tracy (Bill) Cathers of Rostraver Township and Kenneth Roberts of Reinhold, Pa.; grandchildren, James, Candace, Rachel, Joseph, Andrew, Lyssa, Billy, Eric, Krista and Stacey; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marijo Day of Belle Vernon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Kubicek; and brother, Thomas Chunkala. Visitation was held Sunday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, where a Blessing Service will be held at 12:15 p.m. Monday, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. at St. Sebastian Church, 801 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon with the Rev. Michael Crookston presiding. Interment will follow in Fells Cemetery.
