Public forum set on new voting machines

Non-electronic voting systems in Pennsylvania are nearing the end of their life, and Washington County voters will cast their ballots on new electronic machines in the 2020 elections.
The League of Women Voters of Washington County has organized an informational public forum on the use of the new machines. The gathering will provide information about the function of the new machines.
According to Votes PA, most voting machines are now older than the first iPhone model, making their software and hardware incompatible with most manufacturers.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security called on all state and local election officials to ensure that by the 2020 presidential election, every American vote is cast on a system that produces a paper record that can be verified and checked by the voter and then audited by election professionals.
