As winter approaches, the Belle Vernon Borough Friends of Recreation Board is already gearing up for next year’s Monongahela River Community Fest.
“We are looking for volunteer and visionaries to help with the planning of the 2020 fest,” said Rachel Christner Wilson, chair of the Belle Vernon Recreational Committee.
Next year’s Mon River Community Fest has been set for the third weekend in July. Wilson said interested people should keep an eye out for a planning meeting scheduled for November.
July 19 is the designated day for the canoe and kayak race, and Wilson said the board is seeking volunteers for myriad roles, including donation garnerers, vendors, sponsors, participants and helpers for the queen contest, canoe and kayak race and car show.
