Greensburg Central Catholic is 6-2 overall and currently in second place in Class A’s Eastern Conference.

Three area players have had leading roles in the success of the Centurions under first-year head coach Bret Colbert. They are Zach Kuvinka and Brandon Brown of Monessen and Ben LaCarte of Belle Vernon.

The senior two-way players all rank among the team leaders in various offensive and defensive statistics and Colbert claims all are “FCS talent” in quality.

Kuvinka (5-9, 183) is a running back/inside linebacker. He leads GCC in rushing and is tied for the lead in scoring (5 TDs) on offense and defensively is first in tackles for losses (13) and second overall in tackles (34) with 2 sacks. He has also thrown a TD pass this season on his only attempt.

Brown (5-10, 165) is a wide receiver/defensive back, has 21 receptions for a team-leading 293 yards and 3 TDs. He has 5 interceptions and 2 sacks on defense.
