A nearly decade-long, $16 million improvement project to the Pleasant Hills Logan Run Sewage Treatment Plant is entering its final phase, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
The project will stabilize the stream bank that flows around the plant, preventing it from overflowing during heavy rainstorms and entering into the plant.
The borough received three bids for the project, with the lowest bid coming in at $1.2 million by Braddock-based construction firm Mele and Mele and Sons, Inc.
Two other bids for the project were priced at $1.4 million and $1.6 million.
