Citizens packed the Forward Township meeting room Monday to voice opposition to a proposal made in September for the township to adopt the International Property Maintenance Code.
There was just one question: Are you passing the International Property Maintenance Code? And the short answer: no.
“People take pride in their houses. It’s hard to find a home in Forward Township that is not neat and clean,” said Tom Verosa, chairman of the supervisors. “There are just a few, and it’s a shame you can’t just go to them and reason with them.
“This is probably the most lenient township around. This is as lenient as you get, but when you have problems, people complain, but no one wants to do anything. We’re not going to adopt the International Property Maintenance Code.”
