The Belle Vernon Area girls soccer team completed its second straight unbeaten section championship with an 8-1 win over host Laurel Highlands in Section 2-3A play Monday.

The Leopards (13-3, 12-0) upped their section winning streak to 26 games dating back to 2017.

Seven different BVA players scored led by Jillian Butchki’s two markers late in the second half. Other goal scorers were Klaire Temoshenka, Farrah Reader, Morgan Einodshofer, Chloe Morgan, Victoria Rodriguez and Marissa Grubbs.

Einodshofer and Reader chipped in three assists apiece while Autumn Forte and Danielle Engstrom each added helpers.

“Our defense did a great job limiting Laurel Highlands to just a few shots,” BVA head coach Tracy Lovett said.
