Voters to fill three at-large seats on Ringgold School Board

Five candidates are competing for three at-large Ringgold School Board seats.

Incumbent Gene Kennedy is the only candidate who earned a spot on the Democratic and Republican ballots in the primary. Also appearing on the Republican ballot will be newcomer Harley Bobnar and incumbent Bill Stein. On the Democratic ballot will be incumbents Gail Glaneman and Jason Gerard.

In the race for one, two-year term, Bobnar is on the Republican ballot and Glaneman is on the Democratic ticket.

Bobnar, 24, of New Eagle said the biggest issue facing Ringgold involves a few educational weaknesses within the district. She would like to see homework assignments that reinforce what the teachers are teaching during lessons to drive home the material. Bobnar said sometimes it seems homework is more like busy work.
