EF falls short in overtime loss to South Park

After 80 minutes, neither offense was able to break through in Thursday’s Section 1-2A matchup between Elizabeth Forward and South Park. 

It came down to the final minute of overtime before Dylan Weiss soared the ball into the back of the net to give South Park a dramatic 1-0 win over the Warriors. 

Elizabeth Forward head coach Doug Finke was seeking 80 minutes of focus from his team. 

And he got that and more from his group. 

“This has been what I have been asking for all year,” Finke said. “Eighty minutes of focus and fighting, and we gave that today. It is unfortunate to come away with the score what it was, but I’m proud of the way the boys competed. And not just how they competed, but how they played tonight, too.”
