Mary E. Stimmell Yates – Rostraver Township

Mary E. Stimmell Yates, 94, of Rostraver Township, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019. Born in Washington Township on Oct. 3, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Mary Ernest Farquhar Sr. She was the last surviving member of her family. A homemaker, Mary was a member of Little Redstone Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by her son, William A. (Karen) Stimmell of Rostraver Township; grandchildren, Anthony W. Stimmell and Maria E. Stimmell; step-children, Barbara Wolford of Allenport, John Robert Yates III of Port Orange, Fla., Glady (fiancé, Chuck Moffit) Beveridge of Monongahela, Jessie (Larry) Funari of Allenport and Janet Pearson of Carnegie; step-grandchildren; Traci (Victor) Fedrick, Robert (Katie) Wolford Jr., Steve Pierce, Christopher (Cathy) Kaschok, Courtney (Douglas) Alexander, Mellissa Pearson, Paula (fiancé, Bucky)Yates Lindsey (fiancé, Dave) Hooker; step-great-grandchildren, Megan, Sarah, Halee and Diego Fedrick; Jordan, Jacob, Noah and Cecelia Wolford; McKenna and Cooper Kaschok; Lincoln and Grant Alexander; Olivia Brown; Malcom, Keldon and Rylynn Hooker; special friends, Susan (Rick) Nesti of Perryopolis and Louise Williams of Fayette City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Asa O. Stimmell Jr.; and second husband, John R. Yates Jr.; and numerous brothers and sisters. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday with Pastor Jack Washabaugh officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park.
