Leopards wrap up section championship

It’s likely to be a rare occurance, but the Belle Vernon Area boys soccer team can send a big thank you to rival Ringgold.
Combined with Ringgold’s 1-0 win over Trinity, Belle Vernon Area clinched the Section 3-3A championship outright after a 4-1 win over host Greensburg Salem Tuesday.
It’s the Leopards’ second section title in four seasons and the fourth overall for BVA.
“Tonight wasn’t our best game, I give credit to Greensburg Salem,” BVA head coach Rob Miele said. “They came out and played a very good game on their senior night, but our guys stepped up and made plays when they needed to.”
