Denver L. Byron Sr. – Fallowfield Township

Denver L. Byron Sr., 73, of Fallowfield Township, passed away on Oct. 4, 2019, at UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh with his family by his side. Denver was born on Feb. 15, 1946, in North Charleroi, the son of the late Warren Byron and Dorothy Sloboda McMullen. He was a graduate of Charleroi High School Class of 1964, where he excelled in soccer. In addition to leaving behind a multitude of loving friendships, Denver was an avid golfer and took extreme pride in his work as a construction superintendent, having built multi-million dollar projects in Florida, Virginia, Guam, Arizona and Pennsylvania. Denver is survived by his wife, Carol Beveridge Byron; two sons, Denver Byron Jr. of Carroll Township and Christopher Byron of Fallowfield Township; and daughter, Jayme Zsiros and husband Colman of Cleveland, Ohio; sister, Kellie McMullen Hatman and husband, Daniel of St. Augustine, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Miranda and Christopher Byron, Kylee and Chloe Byron and Emma Zsiros. In addition to his parents, Denver was preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Moore. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where a blessing service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday. A celebration of Denver’s life will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, at Smitty’s Marina. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ben Curtis Family Foundation at www.bencurtisfoundation.org/.
