John R. Spark – Rostraver Township, formerly of Elizabeth

John R. Spark, 84, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, formerly of Elizabeth, passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019, at his home. Born Aug. 16, 1935, in Jefferson Borough, he was the son of the late John A. and Irene Crawford Spark. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 11 years, Mr. Spark was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a retired truck driver from West Elizabeth Lumber Co., a member of the Brunswick Senior Bowling League, enjoyed golf and traveling with his wife. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Meyer Spark, to whom he was married 33 years; daughter, Darla Posney of Terentum; two stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Michele and Fred Rock of Pittsburgh and Vicki and Dr. Anthony D’Alessio of Belle Vernon; brother, Albert W. “Speed” Kerr of Clairton; six grandchildren, Kayla Posney, Camden Posney, Ryan Rock, Richard Rock, Kyle D’Alessio, Danielle D’Alessio; and two great-grandchildren, Carmen Vertullo and Gavin Vertullo. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183, followed by funeral services at 7 p.m. with Pastor Lee Maley officiating. The Family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of John R. Spark to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or a charity of your choice.
