Chamber members and guests who attended Friday’s Mon Yough Area Chamber of Commerce National Manufacturing Day Luncheon heard a panel discussion on a two-part, $1 billion-plus investment in a Mon Valley manufacturing plant.

“I cannot tell you how excited I am,” Mon Yough Chamber of Commerce President Maury Burgwin said. “I want to thank U.S. Steel for being the inspiration for this day. We are proud of our partnership with you as a member of our community and in your new and exciting adventure.”

The panel began with an instructional video presentation about the new facility investments.

Those investments will go toward construction of a new endless casting and rolling facility at the Edgar Thomson Plant in Braddock as well as a cogeneration facility at the Clairton plant.
