Cavanaugh’s 3 TDs lead Bentworth

Trent Cavanaugh finished with three total touchdowns to lead Bentworth past Avella, 31-20, in Tri-County South Conference play Friday night.
Cavanaugh totaled 145 yards on 17 carries while adding touchdown runs of 38 and 34 yards. He also had a receiving touchdown of 26 yards from quarterback Shawn Dziak.
Owen Petrisek added a 5-yard rushing touchdown for Bentworth (2-5, 2-3), while Trevor Richardson hit a 32-yard field goal.
Matt Kidwell, Derrick Terolli and Noah Markle each had rushing touchdowns for Avella (1-6, 0-4).
Bentworth travels to California next week.
