Lions slip by Jaguars

Thomas Jefferson head boys soccer coach Mike Kulish beamed with pride following Thursday’s Section 4-3A matchup with South Fayette.

Judging by his calm demeanor and positive attitude, one would assume the veteran coach had just watched his team win in lopsided fashion.

That wasn’t the case, however, as the Jaguars suffered a 1-0 loss to the Lions in what Kulish described as “a heartbreaker.”

South Fayette (10-2, 7-2), which has now won eight of its last nine games, broke the scoreless tie a little more than midway through the second half as Chad Eldridge blasted a shot with his left foot that beat Thomas Jefferson goalkeeper A.J. Getsy to provide the lone tally on the scoreboard.
