Eagles’ Carr breaks goal mark

Four years ago, Maddie Carr entered Serra Catholic with an ambitious goal: She wanted to be the school’s all-time leading goal-scorer.
Every day since she joined the soccer team, she’s thought about that goal. Every time that she passed the trophy case that held a soccer ball recognizing Michelle Manfredi’s 91 career goals, it poked at her even more.
Soon, that ball will be replaced with one with Carr’s name, as she achieved a dream that was four years in the making Wednesday, netting her 92nd career goal four minutes and 20 seconds into a 3-0 victory over Springdale.
