Louise “Babe” Phillips, 92, of Monongahela, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, at the Residence at Hilltop, Carroll Township. Born June 11, 1927, in Monongahela, she was the daughter of Beto and Anna Gazetski Vaira. A 1945 graduate of Monongahela High School, Babe spent most of her life as a homemaker taking care of her family. She was a member of St. Damien of Molokai Parish in Monongahela. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Albert L. Jr. and Laurel Phillips of Phoenixville, Pa. and Paul and Virginia Phillips of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and Richard Sciulli of Midland, Ga.; three grandchildren, Joshua, Gabriel and Alyse Phillips; cousins Alana Gazetski, Kathleen Baker, Dennis (Karen) Gazetsky, Bernie (Lance) Bachetti along with numerous other cousins. Preceding her in death was her husband, Albert Lee Phillips Sr., on Nov. 16, 1993. Friends will be received  from  4 to 8 p.m., Monday Oct. 7,  at the MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767. Friends and family are asked to meet at St. Damien of Molokai Parish for a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, Oct. 8 beginning at 10 a.m. with Father Kevin Dominic as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. Condolences can be left online in Babe’s name at marshallmarrafuneralhome.com.
