Leopards headed back to the playoffs

A Daniel Sassak hat trick helped the Belle Vernon Area boys soccer team secure a playoff birth Tuesday with a 5-3 victory over Laurel Highlands at James Weir Stadium.
The Leopards (12-1, 9-1) scored the game’s first four goals, two on their first two shots in the Section 3-3A matchup.
BVA has advanced to the postseason five consecutive years.
“Making the playoffs is the first big goal we are able to check off of our list,” BVA head coach Rob Miele said. “This team continues to work hard and get better each day and I’m proud of them. We’re looking forward to checking that next box off our list of goals.”
