John P. ‘Jocko’ Namie – Monongahela

John P. “Jocko” Namie, 73 of Monongahela, Carroll Township, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019, in his home. Born Dec. 28, 1945, in Monongahela, he was the son of the late Isaac J. and Mary A. Gori Namie. A 1964 graduate of Monongahela High School, Jocko and his wife Betty owned the former Chilly’s Bar in Monongahela until 1994. He loved antique cars, taking drives to the mountains and was an avid music fan. Surviving are his wife, Betty Marozza Namie, who he married on his birthday in 1965; a daughter Lisa and Randy Drake of Monessen; a brother Steve and wife Mary Namie of Cleveland, OH; a sister, Karen Zundel of Belle Vernon; three sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Margaret Mansberry and Ronald Marozza of Monongahela; Mary Landa of Greensburg and Jessie Phelps of Marshall, Texas; along with many very close friends. At Jockos request services will be private. The MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, was in charge of the arrangements.
