Allegheny County seeking poll workers

The 2019 general election is a little more than a month away, and Allegheny County’s Elections Bureau is calling on residents to serve as election officers at the polls.
The county needs registered voters to serve as judge of elections, inspector and clerk of elections. Election officers earn from $115 to $140 for the day, and new election officers receive paid training.
“In order to serve as an election officer, you must be comfortable with new technology and the ever-changing election environment,” according to a release from the county. “There is a high performance expectation on Election Day and well-trained election officers are instrumental in our ability to realize that goal.”
The judge of election is the election bureau team leader responsible for the operation of the voting location, enforcing Election Day rules and regulations, tallying and verifying the final results and closing the polling site and pickup and return of all election supplies and results.
