John David Rutherford – Charleroi

John David Rutherford, 52, of Charleroi, died on Sept.19, 2019, in Allegheny General Hospital with his daughter, mother and sister by his side. He was born on July 28, 1967, in Charleroi, son of the late William J. Rutherford and Carol J. Rockidge Rutherford, who survives and resides in Monessen. He is also survived by his daughter, Ashley Rutherford and her fiancé, William Alvis of Wintersville, Ohio; and a son, David. John also leaves behind a brother, Billy Rutherford, his wife, Sally and their three sons, all of Wildwood, N.J.; and his sister, Mandy Lynn and her husband, Nicholas Rapsack of Centerville. In addition, he is survived by an uncle, several aunts and numerous cousins. John was Lutheran by faith. He was a graduate of Charleroi Area High School. John was known for his unique sense of humor and often engaged in pranking his family during holiday gatherings. John had a love for music that was evident by his extensive CD collection. During football season, he could be found cheering on Penn State or crying over the Dallas Cowboys (haha). He was also an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins. John had an adventurous side and loved amusement parks with Cedar Point and Kennywood being his favorites.
