The second annual Fall Festival in the Park is happening this weekend in Donora.
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Palmer Park will be filled with all things fun.
Sponsored by the Friends of the Donora Public Library, the event is free and open to the public.
It will be held rain or shine.
There will be several DJs throughout the day and more than 35 food and craft vendors.
In addition to tons of food and live music, there will also be pumpkin painting, face painting, balloon animals, a bounce house, a traveling magician, hayrides and a find-a-frog event.
Find-a-frog, which is new to the event this year, involves guests searching for ceramic frogs throughout the venue.
The frogs will have numbers on the bottom.
Guests who find a frog will win a prize and be entered into a larger drawing at the end of the event.
In addition to fall festivities there will also be a photo booth sponsored by Colgan Insurance Agency Inc.
There will also be a Touch-A-Truck event this year, featuring fire trucks, police and EMS vehicles and a Life Flight helicopter.
There will also be representatives from the military branches at the event to provide information.
Last year, the event attracted more than 2,500 people to Palmer Park.
This year, if the weather holds out, organizers are hoping to double that number.
“It is a great event,” organizer Jane Ackerman said. “If the weather holds out, there is no doubt we will be even more successful than we were last year. It really is a great festival to host in our community.”
Proceeds from the event are split between the library and to offset costs for the festival in 2020.
