SCSEP program helps connect seniors, employers

Tony Necciai has had many jobs in his life, from working on cars to installing carpeting to being a steelworker and a construction worker.

But because of a heart condition, the Monongahela man is unable to return to the arduous work he had done previously.

Now, through the Senior Community Service Employment Program, Necciai has made the transition to an office job at the CareerLink in Donora.

“The Senior Employment program gave me a new purpose in life — to help people,” Necciai said. “This job taught me a lot of people skills. I was always a mud-and-boots guy. I never thought I’d be at a desk.”
