Dorothy M. Strong – West Newton

Funeral services were held for Dorothy M. Strong, 83, of West Newton who died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, in The Greenery Specialty Care Center, Canonsburg. Dorothy was born Jan. 9, 1936, in Glassport and was the daughter of Frank and Mary Frantish. Dororthy attended North Allegheny High School and spent most of her life as a homemaker, taking care of her family. Surviving are two sons, Arthur F. and Cheryl Strong of Monongahela, Valley Inn, and Michael Strong of West Newton, with whom she made her home; a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Tom Vernet of Donora; three grandchildren, Danielle (Joe) Santina of Monongahela; Victoria (Cody) Zimmerman and Thomas Vernet Jr. of Donora; and four great-grandchildren, Bruce, Sara, Brooklynn and Cooper Santina. Preceding her in death was her husband, Arthur E. Strong, who died Aug. 14, 2006. Interment was held in Monongahela Cemetery.
