Vulcans cruise to 58-7 throttling of Red Raiders

Noah Mitchell threw a career-high four touchdown passes while Cal U’s defense forced four turnovers in a 58-7 rout of Shippensburg Saturday afternoon at Adamson Stadium.

A week after throwing three interceptions in a loss to Kutztown, Mitchell responded in a big way against the Red Raiders (0-3), completing 16 of 28 passes for 289 yards.

“It felt really good (to have this performance) because last week wasn’t my best week with three interceptions,” Mitchell said. “I really worked on that in practice, making sure I’m taking care of the ball, going over my reads and watching a little bit of extra film. My receivers did a great job helping me out, getting open and running off leverage, but we still have a lot of work to do.”

Mitchell had a number of different options to work with in the passing game as eight different players caught a pass.
