Trade jobs are a part of the culture in the Mon Valley.
To increase interest for potential job seekers in high- demand professions, area organizations and elected officials are sponsoring events to generate interest, provide information and get people talking.
State Rep. Bud Cook, R-West Pike Run Township, will sponsor “Showcasing the Trades” next weekend.
Set for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Mon Valley Career and Technical Center, several area businesses, organizations and schools are slated to attend, including the Douglas Education Center, GMS Corporate, Intermediate Unit 1, Intermediate Unit 3, Intermediate Unit 7, the Mon Valley Initiative and Penn Commercial Business and Technical School.
Cook has also extended the invitation to trade unions and potential employers.
