For anyone who believes that dogs are man’s best friend and kittens are angels with whiskers, the American Cancer Society’s “Bark For Life” event is sure to be the cat’s pajamas.

Dubbed “a day dedicated to our furry friends,” the event will feature a 5K dog fun walk, pet remembrances, visits by pet professionals, a blessing of the pets, food trucks and refreshments.

The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. Oct. 12 at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery, Funeral Home and Crematorium on Curry Road in Jefferson Hills.

The day will act as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and helps Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home celebrate its 90th anniversary.
