Warriors’ struggles remain against Eagles

Over the last decade, South Park has made a habit out of beating Elizabeth Forward.

Entering the season, the Warriors had lost 17 straight regular season meetings with the Eagles dating back to 2008, suffering five one-goal losses during that span.

The losing streak grew to 18 Thursday night as the Eagles once again prevailed by a single goal, earning a 2-1 victory over the Warriors in Section 1-2A play at Warriors Stadium.

“They’re a good team,” Elizabeth Forward head coach Doug Finke said of the Eagles. “Right now, we can’t seem to get over this hurdle. Even from last year til now, we’re beating the teams we’re supposed to beat, but we have to find that consistency of 80 minutes. We need 80 minutes to compete at this level and I think that is what is holding us back.”
