For Abbie Chalovich and Tyler Turk, their connection on the volleyball court comes naturally.

Chalovich, a setter, and Turk, a middle hitter, have started together for Thomas Jefferson for three seasons now, and are best friends to boot. The Jaguars, though, all play like a team of best friends.

The team is bonded on the court in a way that good volleyball teams are. That was on display Thursday in a Section 3-3A matchup against Laurel Highlands.

Thomas Jefferson showed great fluidity and execution in every phase, smoothy hitting, setting, serving and defending. The Jaguars did everything with ease and the result was an easy sweep. TJ dominated the first two sets, winning 25-11 and 25-13 and edging LH in the third, 25-23. With the win, Thomas Jefferson moved to 7-0 on the season.
