The McKeesport Trail Commission is hosting a car show this month to raise money “to spruce up” the McKeesport Hostel and to help provide kids with bicycles.

The car show, which is in its eighth year and is being sponsored by the McKeesport office of state Sen. Jim Brewster, D-McKeesport, will be held in the parking lot of Renziehausen Park’s Blue Top Pavilion from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 29. A rain date is scheduled for Oct. 5.

MTC President Linda Brewster, who is Sen. Brewster’s wife, said all vehicle types, including antique and classic cars, muscle cars, vans, trucks and motorcycles are welcome to register for the event. Registration costs $10, and the first 100 cars to register will receive a dash plaque.

“No one needs to register in advance,” Linda Brewster said. “They can just show up. We have plenty of room and plenty of parking spaces, so we are hoping lots of cars enter.”
