Robert ‘Pidge’ Cunningham – Monessen

All the traffic stopped while the Angels walked the crossing guard “Pidge” across the street to the waiting arms of Jesus on Sept. 14, 2019. Robert Cunningham, 68, of Monessen, was born July 31, 1951, to the late Kathryn Cunningham. He was known as “Pidge” and was employed by the City of Monessen as a school crossing guard. The children loved him. He is survived by three sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara (Louis) Woodson, Audrey Cunningham and Phyllis Williams, all of Monessen; a sister-in-law, Mary Loines of Cleveland, Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Beside his mother he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Loines. Viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 230 Reed Ave., Monessen, with funeral services at 11 a.m. Sept. 21, 2019, with pastor, Bishop Karl Jackson, officiating. Interment at Belle Vernon Cemetery. Final celebration has been gently place in the hands of HOUSE OF JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora. PA, Karl Jackson, funeral director, 724-379-5420.
