Back when Reiley Wiant was 5 years old, he’d often play hockey in his kitchen, fantasizing that he was playing for Team USA.

Wiant will no longer have to lean on that fantasy anymore. Soon, it will be reality.

He was one of three local players selected to play for a USA national ball hockey team.

Wiant, who also plays football for Belle Vernon Area, was selected to the USDHF U18 national team and will play in Rovaniemi, Finland.

Bradley Bujdos, another BVA student, and Kenny Cadwallader of Ringgold will play for the USA Ball Hockey U20 national team and the USDHF U14 national team, respectively.
