Butterfly garden season is still in bloom

Gardening season is far from over, even for people who have butterfly gardens.
“There’s still much to be done in the garden,” said Mary Jane Hickman of White Oak.
Hickman is a member of the Garden Club of McKeesport, who helps with the Renziehausen Park Rose Garden and Arboretum in McKeesport and is a Phipps Master Gardener. She’s also an unintentional butterfly gardener.
“I’m a perennial person and that just comes with the territory. Every perennial I have in my garden, the butterflies love,” Hickman said.
Hickman said there are several factors to consider when planning a butterfly garden.
