Residents of Aliquippa Avenue approached Monessen council Thursday night for help with a rat and rodent infestation.
At least eight residents and neighbors were present to speak their piece about the problem, which they say is affecting their families’ quality of life.
Glenda Davis, Lori Essay and LaKisha Johnson presented council with stories of swarms of large rodents in their yards, and for some, even their homes and basements. One resident said she saw a rat run across her dining room table.
Paul Mountain lives in Carroll Township, but said Johnson, who is his daughter, has dealt with this problem for months, and that he fears for the health of his grandchildren.
