George Peter Luketic – San Antonio, Texas

Sgt. Maj. George Peter Luketic, U.S. Army (Ret.), was born March 23, 1932, in McKeesport and passed away on Sept. 3, 2019, at 87 years of age, in San Antonio, Texas. “Duty, Honor, Country, Family” Sgt. Maj. Luketic proudly served his country for 30 years and was a veteran of Korea and Vietnam. He had an outstanding career as a Special Agent in the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command. Recipient of the Army Commendation Medal. In addition to service in the Army, his career also included working for the U.S. Postal Service and as an investigator for USAA. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend. Throughout his life, George had many hobbies and pastimes; he loved music and all the great singers; he was a talented baseball player, horseshoe pitcher, bowler, pool, poker and chess player. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Adeline and son, Roy. He is survived by his children, Mark Luketic (Bettina) of Boerne, Texas, Barbara Soucia (Rick) of Sugar Hill, Ga.; Georgine Lindseth (Greg) of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., and R. David Luketic (Marie) of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Tammy Reedy, Ralph Luketic, Kimberly Lindseth, Emily Ellis (Chris), Jenna Soucia; and great-granddaughter, Callie Luketic; and by his sister, Kathryn Kovacevic of McKeesport. Visitation will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 6680 Crestway Drive, San Antonio, Texas, followed by an 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial with a luncheon to follow Mass. Procession to Fort  Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas, for interment with full army honors at 2:30 p.m.
