Donora is once again looking for a new borough administrator.
Council voted to hire Jerad Cypher of East Washington during last week’s special meeting, but Cypher has since turned down the job to take another position.
Cypher was offered an annual salary of $44,000 to work in Donora and had been expected to begin work after passing a drug test and a background check.
Council President Jane Ackerman said she believes council must go back to the drawing board in the search for a new administrator.
Council met in executive session following Thursday night’s voting meeting to discuss the personnel issue, but did not return to vote on anything.
Warren Cecconi has served as Donora’s interim administrator since John Bedner resigned in June. This is Cecconi’s second stint serving in an interim capacity in the borough, having first filled in after Dennis Fisher retired in 2017.
