Area man killed in Rostraver Twp. crash

A Fayette County man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Route 51 in Rostraver Township Thursday morning after colliding with a Peterbilt truck.
According to Rostraver Township police, Donald Schultz, 32, of Marston Street, Washington Township, was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck north in the left lane on Route 51 at a high rate of speed when a 2001 Peterbilt roll-off truck driven by Robert Strothers of Pittsburgh entered the road from the parking lot of Bigs Sanitation to also travel north.
Strothers entered the left lane, and Schultz struck the rear of Strothers’ truck.
Police responded to the accident at 5:44 a.m., and Schultz was pronounced dead at the scene by Westmoreland County Coroner Brian Zimmerman at 6:55 a.m.
