Bearcats post weekend sweep

The Bentworth girls soccer team started off the 2019 season with a pair of wins at the Fayette County Tournament on Saturday.
The Bearcats (2-0) defeated Uniontown, 10-0, before earning a 2-1 win over Ringgold.
In the lopsided victory against Uniontown (0-2), Bentworth took a 2-0 lead into halftime before exploding for eight goals in the second half.
Paige Marshalek and Jocelyn Timlin each recorded hat tricks in the victory, while Rori Schreiber added two goals. Tessa Charpentier and Reagan Schreiber each scored a goal.
Jasmine Manning picked up her first career shutout.
“We really had a great second half,” Bentworth head coach Tyler Hamstra said. “We scored 12 seconds in and didn’t let up.”
