Thomas Jefferson didn’t waste its opportunities to put points on the board Friday night.
Especially in the first quarter.
The Jaguars collected 41 points in the opening frame and scored on six of its eight drives in a convincing 48-6 victory over Ringgold in Big 8 Conference play at Joe Montana Stadium.
TJ (2-0, 1-0) used its potent running attack to build its large lead as nine players combined to run for 282 yards.
“It kind of limited what we were doing, but when things work, you just stick with it,” Thomas Jefferson head coach Bill Cherpak said. “It was good because we wanted to get our running game going so teams will have to prepare for both (the run and the pass).”
