Lois L. Ries, 98, of Carroll Township, passed away on Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, in the presence of her beloved family. Born in Carroll Township on Jan. 10, 1921, she was a daughter of the late James and Bess Hartman Ghrist. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Ries Sr.; siblings, Leonard and George Horn, James Ghrist, Vivian Cerini and Betty Carson. She is survived by her son, Bert Ries Jr. of Somerset; two grandchildren, Amy (Bret) Agostoni of Bethel Park, Erin (Benjamin) Bestic of Wexford; two great-grandchildren, Talia Agostoni and Christian Bestic; one sister, Doris Piper of Dayton, Ohio; and former daughter-in-law, Patricia Hanna. No funeral services will be held, per her wishes. Private interment will take place at Mon Valley Memorial Park. Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANTHONY L.
