A highly anticipated running and walking tradition in the Mon Valley will continue next weekend.
The 33rd Annual Charleroi Little Great Race will be held Sept. 7 and Race Committee Chairman Vic Vitale is once again hoping to host an event bigger and better than last year.
The race, which continues to grow both in tradition and participants each year, attracted at least 400 runners and walkers last year.
This year he is hoping to top that number by aiming for 500 participants.
In addition to bringing people from all walks of life together for a good cause, the event each year proves how the community can work together.
“We would not be able to host this event that people really look forward to without community support and sponsors,” Vitale said.
