On the soccer field, Belle Vernon Area’s Izzy Laurita isn’t the biggest player on the field.
She is one of the smallest on the Leopards’ roster this season.
She may be small, but she is mighty.
And now, she’s made her commitment to play Division I soccer.
Laurita announced on social media Sunday morning that she’ll play at the University of Memphis beginning in the fall of 2022.
For opponents, that may be the scariest thing. Laurita will still be on the field for two more seasons with BVA.
“The timeline for Division I is very accelerated,” Laurita said. “I’ve visited over 30 colleges and Memphis has been my No. 1 choice since January. I knew that is where I wanted to play and couldn’t pass up this opportunity.”
