The Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD), which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, has announced this year’s RADical Days.
RAD — a special purpose area-wide unit of local government that was authorized by Act 77 of the Pennsylvania Legislature — is marking 25 years of supporting and investmenting in regional community and cultural institutions and organizations.
RAD describes RADical Days, or RAD Days, as its annual celebration and “thank you” to the taxpayers who fund RAD via the additional 1% sales and use tax in Allegheny County, known as the RAD tax.
On designated RAD Days, Allegheny County residents of all ages get free admission, tours, performances and family activities offered by the organizations and attractions that are funded by RAD and are located in Allegheny County.
