Evalean ‘Eva’ Minnie – Donora

Evalean “Eva” Minnie, 88, of Donora, passed away on Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, at the North Strabane Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in Canonsburg. She was born on May 18, 1931, in Belle Vernon, the daughter of the late William and Eva Ross Minnie. Evalean was a member of the Whole Truth Church of God in Christ, Donora, and graduated from Belle Vernon High School in 1950. She lived her life serving God and Jesus Christ, her savior, in every capacity possible. A sweet soul, her kindness and generosity were felt by all who knew her. She had many lifelong friends, a testament to her loyalty and devotion. She loved spending time with her family and friends, whom she adored. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her brother, James “Piney” Dow; sister, Ruth Kenney Brown; granddaughter, Justina “Tina” Minnie Underwood; and great-grandson, Johnathon Minnie. She is survived by sons, E.J. William “Chick” (Susan) Minnie of Savannah, Ga., and Richard C. “Mine-o” (Deborah) Minnie of Atlanta, Ga.; three grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous family members, including nephews, nieces, cousins and many extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019, at the Whole Truth Church of God in Christ, 1004 McKean Ave., Donora, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, at the church with Pastor Reuben Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue, Monessen, PA 15062, 724-684-3700. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions/donations can be made to the Evalean Minnie Memorial Fund and will be accepted at any Citizens Bank Branch location.
